1. Who we are
QwertyKey Studio is operated by QWERTYKEY S.R.L. (“QwertyKey”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). For questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at help@qwertykey.eu.
2. Information we collect
You can use the core device-configuration features without creating a cloud account. If you choose to sign up or use cloud profiles, we may collect:
- Account information: your name, email address, profile picture, sign-in provider, and an internal account identifier.
- Device and profile information: device model, firmware or device identifiers, profile names, key mappings, lighting, performance settings, and other device configurations you choose to save.
- Basic technical information: browser or app type, IP address, session timestamps, and limited logs needed to keep the service secure and working.
- Support information: anything you choose to send us when asking for help.
Settings stored only in your browser or written directly to your keyboard stay local unless you choose to save them to a cloud profile or send them to us for support.
3. Google sign-in data
If you choose “Sign in with Google”, we use only the basic account information Google provides for authentication, such as your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. We use this information to create and secure your QwertyKey Studio account and connect it to your cloud profiles.
This basic Google account data is stored with your QwertyKey Studio account while it remains active and may be processed only by the authentication, hosting, and storage providers described below. We do not request access to your Google contacts, Drive files, emails, or calendar. We do not sell Google user data, share it with advertisers or other users, or use it for purposes unrelated to providing and securing QwertyKey Studio.
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
4. How we use information
We use personal data only as needed to:
- create your account and authenticate sign-ins, including Google sign-in and email verification codes;
- save, sync, restore, and manage the device profiles you choose to store;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve QwertyKey Studio;
- respond to support requests; and
- meet legal obligations and protect users, QwertyKey, and the service.
Where applicable, we process this information to provide the service you request, based on our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and reliable, with your consent where consent is required, or to comply with law.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share only what is necessary with service providers that help us provide authentication, hosting, cloud storage, security, and support. These providers may process data only for the services they provide to us.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Storage and retention
We keep account and cloud-profile information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, unless we must keep limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup purposes.
Our service providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep access to your email or Google account secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
8. Your choices and rights
You may choose not to create an account. You may also request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a portable copy of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise these rights or request account and cloud-data deletion, email help@qwertykey.eu. If you are in the EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Local storage and cookies
QwertyKey Studio may use local browser storage and essential cookies or similar technologies for device preferences, profiles, authentication sessions, and security. We do not use this data for targeted advertising.
10. Children
Cloud accounts are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as QwertyKey Studio changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. If a change is important, we may also provide notice in the software or by email.
